A large and powerful religious group steals the moon for its magical potential, drawing it
to the earth with chains.
The Celestial Serpent becomes enraged and burrows into the world, shattering it apart.
She now stays curled around the Earth's core in a deep sorrow.
Without the serpent’s care the
Sun's fire fades away, casting Vacuit into an endless night.
Work in progress 👍
A great beast-like deity that rules over the Sun, Moon, and Earth. She is depicted in a myriad of ways as very few humans have been able to see her for themselves and those that have we're unable to comprehend The Serpent due to her planetary size or inflicted with madness.

The oldest and most skilled Master Wizard known in all of Vacuit. Ignatius lives on a small island
closest to the core so He can look after his mother, The Celestial Serpent, in her time of grief.
He fosters an impressive library that scholars travel great distances to study.
Ignatius comes across very grouchy intially but he has a soft heart, he will often complain about humans
despite clearly holding a fondness for them, especially his troublesome apprentice Zrah.

Bartholomew is one of the most powerful sorcerers in Vacuit, sacrificing most of
her body in order to extend her life. She now presides in a large tower in the southern tundra of
Vacuit as an anti-social hermit.
Where others would use their influence as a powerful Master Wizard
she instead opts for a very “hands off” approach to the rest of the world.
Her tower is full to the brim with strange curios and oddities collected over the course of her expansive life.

i'll write this one later lol

A well known and respected artificer with a confident and agreeable personality. His good humor
has gifted him many friends and allies throughout Vacuit.
Zrah often invites others to join him on his travels, acting as a host to them during the trip.
Entertainment and Festivals are organized using his caravan as a venue.
Before the shatter, The Empire (NAME TBD) commissioned him to create Artificial Suns,
great Magical artifacts made of bronze and inscribed with a powerful spell that helps the object
float and produces intense bright light and heat.
These objects are extremely expensive due to
the craftwork and magical understanding needed to create them so they're often owned by larger
communities and nations rather than individual people.

The youngest of all Master Wizards and a figurehead for radical movements and non-traditionist
magic practices.
Siobhan has an important influence in The Shatter, spearheading a sort of Bohemian
movement built on prioritizing community, rejecting The Church, and challenging traditional ideas.
She's an extremely friendly and open-minded individual with a deep connection to the natural world.
You can sometimes find her aboard Zrah's barge or hanging around Shepherd.

A mysterious denizen of desolate rolling hills on an isolated island near The Shatter. He lives with his flock
of sheep in a modest dwelling.
Not much is publicly known about Shepherd as a Master Wizard due to his
location and bizarre personality. Shepherd is an extremely skilled "wild" magic user, rivalling and even
surpassing Ignatius's abilties as a Demi-God.
Siobhan acts as his informal apprentice.
